2011 marked the 25th anniversary of North Cascades Institute and was a banner year for
awesome programs like “North Cascades Wild” and “Mountain School", to which Outdoor Youth Connections is
is a proud contributor. Together, we connect underserved youth to wild places, fostering the development of a stewardship ethic,
building environmental awareness and engaging youth in responsible outdoor recreation.
This year, fifty-one students participated in 12-day canoe, camping, backpacking and service program on Ross Lake in the North Cascades National Park and Baker Lake in Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. |

Our goal is to promote youth involvment in the natural outdoors and the many activities it affords. The NCI programs align with our vision very well and are extremely effective at reaching and impacting deserving youth. At OYC, we believe our partnership with North Cascades Institute delivers one of the best returns for our effort. |
